Overview
Synopsis: Santiago Delgado is an impoverished bicycle rickshaw driver living in Cuba. When he encounters Devon Kavia, a wealthy Canadian on vacation with his family, Devon promises to leave Santiago a stylish stroller for his unborn child. Unfortunately for Santiago, Devon’s family needs the stroller for the rest of their vacation and their departure point is an airport that is many miles away from Santiago’s hometown. Despite the distance, Santiago is determined to meet with Devon and get the stroller. As he and his nine year old son, Luis, travel from the South coast of Cuba to the North coast where Devon vacations, they encounter many hardships and revelations along the way. During Santiago’s challenging journey, and while staying at an exclusive tourist resort, Devon meets with his estranged son, Sean, and their strained relationship continues to deteriorate under the searing sun of an artificial Caribbean paradise.
