Cricket, a former zombie hunter from the War on Dead, is having a difficult time adjusting to a new way of life in the aftermath of the dead rising six years prior. Pro-Rights activists assembled and granted flesh-eating zombies their own freedoms. Cricket finds herself on the wrong side of the law; she’s forced to take on a dangerous assignment to pay her dues with her close friend and former hunting partner, Korvin. The duo are tasked with heading out of protected territory with a city official’s daughter, Emma, and a rambunctious courier named Xander in tow for an illegal procedure in unprotected territory. Cricket has to face a friend that she no longer sides with, a hungry world of zombies, and a dispassionate Doctor who still knows there’s a way to get what they want from human and undead suffering alike.
